| Footpath closures affecting Walk 2 - The Belton Bracer | Path closures and diversions Shropshire Council rights of way have extended the closure all the footpaths off Greenfoot Lane for public safety reasons whilst building work is carried out on the development in the area. There are 5 rights of way affected, including the path that crosses the by-pass, part of our Belton Bracer walk. If following the book, from point 2 carry and walk up Tilstock Road, straight across the bypass roundabout towards Alderford for about 100m and take the footpath on the right. There is also a diversion at Belton around the new solar farm. The diversion runs on the east [town] side of the solar panels and is easy to follow.. |

2031 Deadline to be removed On
Boxing Day, the UK government has announced it will remove the 2031
deadline to record historic rights of way in England, ending the threat
to over 41,000 miles of unrecorded paths. After the previous government
broke its promise to abolish the deadline, this decision is a welcome
step forward. The government has recognised that there was going to be
no way local authorities would be able to be meet the deadline. Read
more on the Ramblers website. |
