Returning along the old line of the Shropshire Way we pass through Bubney, a large farm with almost 2,000 milking cows, and where many of its concrete roads are carpeted for the greater comfort of the herd! We finish back at the Horse & Jockey for well deserved refreshments. The walk of 5.5 miles is along quiet country lanes, farm tracks and open fields with a few stiles and no steep hills.

Our
walk starts at the Horse & Jockey Pub at Grindley Brook in
Shropshire, and very soon takes us across the brook into Cheshire,
it then follows the Llwybr Maelor [Maelor Way} into Wrexham Wales.
Then heading south we pass Iscoyd Park, an attractive and popular
wedding venue, then on to the pretty Church of St Mary in Whitewell;
this small country church is actually in Wales but is part of a
joint benefice with two churches in England. It may be possible to
have a look inside the church.
